In-Person Training

Because sometimes the best learning still happens in a room.

Digital learning scales. In-person learning lands differently. For the topics where discussion matters, where questions change the answer, where a shared experience makes the lesson stick — we design the room.

When in-person is the right format

Not every topic belongs in a module. Some subjects need a room — because the learning happens in the conversation, not the content. Because the scenario only works when someone can push back. Because the team needs to go through it together.

Audit readiness workshops. Ethics dilemma discussions. Quality management rollouts. Risk assessment exercises. Change management sessions for complex transformations. These are the moments where in-person earns its cost.

The mistake is treating in-person as the default when digital would do, or treating it as less important than digital because the production values are lower. A well-designed in-person session can change how a team works together. A badly designed one costs everyone a day they won’t get back.

What we design

We design the full materials set for in-person and blended learning programmes:

  • Facilitator guides
  • Participant workbooks
  • Scenario and case study packs
  • Live group exercises
  • Discussion facilitation guides
  • Roleplay and simulation materials
  • Pre-work and pre-reading
  • Post-session reinforcement materials
  • Slide decks that support, not replace
  • Printed activity cards and tools

Design that respects the room

A good in-person session is not a slideshow with breaks. It’s designed around the conversation you want people to have — with the facilitator as guide, not presenter. We design materials that support that: workbooks that lead people through their own thinking, exercises that surface real problems, facilitator guides that give experienced trainers confidence and newer ones a reliable structure.

The visual design matters here too. Materials that look professional signal to participants that their time is valued. Materials that look photocopied from a manual signal something else. We’ve seen the difference it makes.

Blended programmes

Most of the best programmes we build combine formats. A pre-work eLearning module brings everyone to a baseline before the in-person session. The session focuses on application and discussion rather than information transfer. A follow-up digital tool or job aid keeps the learning visible on the job.

We can design the whole programme — not just the part that fits a single format.

Who typically commissions this

In-person training design projects usually come from:

  • L&D teams who have the subject matter expertise but need design support
  • Subject matter experts who need to turn a PowerPoint into a programme
  • Project managers rolling out a new process, system, or standard
  • HR teams running compliance, onboarding, or culture programmes

We’ve worked with all of them. We can work from a brief, from an existing slide deck, or from a conversation about what needs to change.
